Emergency crews rescue man who fell along Panther Creek

Authorities with Habersham Emergency Services said they have asked the Department of Natural Resources for help to get the man out. 

HABERSHAM COUNTY, Ga. — Emergency crews say the have rescued a man after “a substantial fall” along Panther Creek.

Crews were called out to the waterfalls at Panther Creek shortly before 6 p.m. to rescue a man that had fallen at the waterfalls along the creek.

Emergency officials said because bad weather over Habersham County, they could not get any aerial support in to help rescue the man.

Eventually they got him and the man was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Habersham Emergency Services said the Department of Natural Resources helped assist in the rescue.
