ATLANTA — A former metro Atlanta police officer has died days after he was charged with child pornography.
Forsyth County deputies arrested Arthur Handley Jr., 42, on April 23.
Deputies charged him after they searched his home and computers.
According to the sheriff's office, deputies were called to his home on April 28 in response to a medical call. He was taken to Northside Forsyth Hospital where he died a few hours later.
Officials say Handley worked for law enforcement agencies in Smyrna, Albany, and as a police officer in Alpharetta before he resigned in 2016.
