AUDIO: Georgia Tech student called 911 before being killed by police

Channel 2 Action News has obtained the full, unedited 911 call made by Scout Schultz minutes before the student was shot and killed by Georgia Tech police.
The 911 call helps paint the full picture of what transpired the night the 22-year-old was shot and killed.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation confirmed to Channel 2 investigative reporter Mark Winne that Officer Tyler Beck fired that deadly shot.
Police said the voice heard on the 911 call is Schultz, calling police to report a suspicious person on campus Saturday night.911: "Georgia Tech police, how can I help you?"
Schultz: “Hey, I’m over here at West Village.”
Schultz calmly described the gunman he told police they should be looking for.
Schultz: “He’s got long blond hair, white T-shirt and jeans. He’s got a knife in his hand and he might have a gun on his hip.”

Police later learned that Schultz was giving a self-description.
At the end of the call, Schultz gave the dispatcher the first name the Tech student was was born with.
911: “You want to leave your name?”
Schultz: “Sure, Scott Schultz.”
Minutes later, campus police encountered a barefoot Schultz, not realizing he's the student who made the call to police.
Cellphone video of the standoff shows Schultz had a multi-purpose tool with a knife on it in his hand and you can hear him telling police to shoot him.
According to the GBI, Beck shot the student in the chest. He has been placed on leave during the investigation.
“It’s different when you’re in the moment, but from afar there could’ve been maybe a possible alternate thing that could’ve happened,” Georgia Tech student Dasia Smith told Channel 2’s Tyisha Fernandes.
Students have created a memorial outside Schultz's dorm and organized a vigil Monday night to honor the fallen student.
The vigil then turned into a violent protest with police arresting three people, including one student.
“The police did everything they could. They were trying to stop him and avoid that, but in a high escalating situation like that, I don’t think that you can expect anything more other than a miracle,” Georgia Tech student Joseph McDounough told Fernandes.
The GBI said Schultz never had a gun.
One night after protests turned violent, Channel 2's Justin Wilfon saw a much different scene on Tuesday night. 
"It's kind of scary, and I live right here, so it's scary to know that it could happen right where I live," said student Ebony Flores.

ATLANTA — Wilfon went to the homes of one of the three protestors arrested but there was no answer.

"I didn't expect it to be happening on Georgia Tech's campus. It was very shocking," Flores said.

Campus police were seen patrolling Georgia Tech Tuesday night.
