FAIRBURN, Ga. — Ethel Abrahams has developed many talents over the course of her 106 years.
“You want me to go fast or slow,” Ethel asked.
“All right then. Z, Y, X,” Ethel began.

“Everybody would ask her, say them backwards! Say them backwards! And she could say them so fast. I tried to enter her into the Guinness Book of World Records to see if she could say them faster than Snoop Dog,” daughter Berna Howell said.
Ethel was born in 1916. She grew up on a farm and still loves to ride the big tractor. Her life’s work was teaching. She graduated from Alabama State University in 1938.
She’s proud to tell you she never smoked. Never drank.

“And I don’t drink no Pepsi-Cola!” Doesn’t drink Coke either.
“I think she’s an amazing person. I always ask, what planet you off on,” Ethel’s son-in-law Dr. LaReece Howell said.

She attends church every Sunday, and every Wednesday night, too. If you ask, she’s happy to give you a dose of those ABCs. Backward.

Ethel’s party is this Sunday at New Horizons In Faith Church in Fairburn.
